This three-story building consists of 53,000 square feet of floor space plus a 17,000 square foot roof that is designed for a future fourth floor. The floor and roof systems are 5 ¼" lightweight concrete slabs on 2" composite steel deck. The slabs are supported by composite steel floor beams and steel wide-flange columns. Bracing for the building is provided by moment connections. The foundations are conventional spread and continuous footings, except steel helical anchors were required to go to a depth of fifty feet adjacent to the existing building. These helical anchors were required because of inadequate bearing at this location and because of space restraints near the existing column footings.
